movement
Levitation
Levitation- (from Latin levitas "lightness") is the process by which an object is held in the air, without mechanical support, in a stable position.
What we were trying to achieve:
we were trying to capture our peers floating in mid-air and acting as if floating was a normal everyday activity. This links in the theme of movement as its capturing a movement but is frozen by the camera.
WWW: some of the pictures were timed correctly and had the correct shutter speed, these were the most successful.
EBI: It was hard for the model to keep a flat facial expression, the jump had to be timed perfectly in order to make it look realistic.
TIPS: The if the model had long hair it had to be tucked in so it wouldn't look as if they were jumping. the jump had to be well timed with the photographer and the model in order to capture the jump

Zoom Blur
We were trying to achive the effect of movement on a still object. We did this by making a low shutter speed and zooming in with the zoom. This links into the theme of movement because even though the object in still it looks as if the backroung is moving.

I attempted the Forced flash technique. This technique involves also using the flash as you are zooming in for the picture.
Movement of a figure
We were trying to achieve a ghost like image, we made these by making the shutter speed low and making the model move so the picture will be very blurry and seems ghost like. This links in the theme of movement because the model has to move in order to get a blurry photo. the lighting conditions were quite good so we used an ISO of 200.
WWW: The photos were successful within a couple of tries, the key is to time the movement well with the photographer.
EBI: If the photos were taken in a place with a old wall behind them to make the model seem more 'ghost like' and haunting.

Francesca Woodman
We got our inspiration from Francesca Woodman.
Francesca was born in America on April 3, 1958.
Woodman's photographs explore issues of gender, sexuality and herself, in her self-portraits, she is partly hidden or blurred out due to the long exposure times.
Woodman intended to make small, intimate images which is shown by the small and intimate format of the photograph. She also made the photographs small and in black and white to show a further sense of distortion. She also wanted to make her pictures seem as if ghosts accidentally entered the frame but Woodman's ghosts were perfectly calculated. Woodman wanted to show you what you do not see; the bodies inner force. Her pictures show that she is not there fully by being burred, this links in to why she committed suicide at age 22.

Light trails
We made some light trails by placing our camera on a tripod and making the shutter speed 10-15-30 seconds long. This links in to the theme of movement because its capturing the cars that just drove past.
Travelling without moving: GIF
gifs are lots of pictures placed together to form a short video. This can be done by making little movements and capturing them.
WWW: thinking of a short gif to make. This is linked to the theme of movement because when you flick through the pictures quickly it looks like a video which is moving.
EBI: if some of the pictures didnt get lost.

some of the pictures got lost in the process so I made a shorter version of the gif.
